Hi all

I'm a tech guy moving from Phoenix AZ to Seattle area here in the next 90 days.

What I really need to figure out, which I haven't yet, is where to live when I get up there.

I've got substantial savings, but I'm a cheap bastard and hate paying more than I have to. I don't have a job lined up yet but I doubt that will be a problem for me.

I will throw all of my stuff into storage and I won't need much gear to live on. No pets, no girl friend, and not much else weighing me down.

So, I'm probably looking for some kind of extended-stay hotel kind of place to start, and then I'll find somewhere to rent on a six-month lease kind of deal (or as short as I can keep it).

I don't have any area in particular in mind. When I get a job I'll move.

I don't need much space at all, but I hate lugging my laundry around. A bed, sink, toilet, and room for a small desk is all I need. I can get Internet from my phone for awhile.

--

What are the local websites to hit up for somebody who might have a room to rent out?

If you've got a small room to rent out, let me know about it!

Anyone recommend any extended-stay hotel places in the city area?

Any other advice on the subject would be appreciated.

Craiglist is one obvious place to look for rooms to rent. My FIL has used it a few times with success.

What do you like to do activity wise? Do you want city or suburbs?

seattle-tacoma rooms & shares classifieds - craigslist

I will live just about anywhere. Right now, I live downtown.

I guess I need somewhere to park my vehicle. I figured that was a given, but thought I would mention it.
