My fiancée and I are moving to Seattle very soon and are looking at places to live. I will be working in Auburn at the hospital and need to be within 30 mins but ideally within 20. I can live further but would have to take call at the hospital. My fiancée will be working in Bellevue. We are going to rent out first year and are looking for some place in between the two. Thinking renton, des Moines, etc. any suggestions on convenient places for both of us and decent access to the city. We don't mind smaller communities but do enjoy good restaurants and like to cook so decent grocery is important.

Des Moines to Auburn will be easy but Des Moines to Bellevue will be a pain. I'd say Renton is a good bet.
I live there and I've got great taste Renton does have a lot of good restaurants and the usual supermarkets in addition to some ethnic specialty groceries.

I agree, Renton, or maybe Kent. It depends on your work schedules too. If A has a commute during rush hour, and B works, say 5AM to 1:30PM, then try to make A's commute the shorter one.

I agree with Renton, forget about Des Moines as it's too far west. Depending on where the Auburn job is, even Covington or Maple Valley might work. Your commutes to Bellevue and Auburn would be on back roads with less traffic, the 167 to 405 commute is a mess both directions.
