I grew up in San Diego, went to college at Cal Poly SLO, lived 11 years in Albuquerque, now here 10 years in Sacramento. Once we got back to CA, I knew I could never live someplace as dry as ABQ again. My colds now are the normal 7-10 days, compared to 3-5 weeks to get over a winter cold in ABQ. It's the humidity...it helps a lot. particularly for those with allergies, asthma and eczema (like me!). I'm tired of being around so many people, and I want to be able to live someplace humid and green but with less people and near good "city life" and medical when I need it. We're looking at the islands near Seattle.

Must have gotten close to or below freezing last night. Had frost all over this morning!

It was 29 when I woke up this morning. Not sure if it was the same in Seattle or not.

Does it seem like the leaves are staying later than normal this year?

That's because we've not had a big wind storm to remove them. Makes for a colorful fall.

This must be the sunniest and driest fall in the last several years.

Much nicer than last year for sure. I'll take cold and clear over slightly less cold and miserable any day.

It's so beautiful here. I just moved to Seattle. The air is surprisingly dry. Is this abnormal? It feels like the desert!
