C'mon now...we have had a beautiful November so far. Lots of crisp sunny days (or at least some sun in the day). Today is more indicative of a Seattle winter day though. Hovering in the high 30's with mizzle (mist/drizzle). Good cocoa drinking weather.

I don't mind the rain down here in the winter because it usually means snow up there!

Most of the time Seattle rain is just drizzle, I find it easier to wear a hat than struggle with an umbrella. Though you do still need them here. The rain gets steadier December through February and umbrellas I've learned should be cheap and disposable.

The only people that use umbrellas are the newbys and outsiders. We natives are just too mocho, he-men for sissy umbrellas. I don't even own an umbrella. My wife has an umbrella though but she's always hitting me in the face when she uses it as we stroll down the street on a dark, cold rainy day.

Exactly. I walked from Pier 66 to the Westlake transit tunnel entrance today in a steady downpour with just the hood on. I passed through the Pike Place market, with all the tourists carrying umbrellas, got up to 1st & Pine where the commuters were all walking and none had them. All hoods, or nothing.

40s, raining, and VERY windy here in B'ham. The two previous days were brilliantly sunny, though.

Thanks everyone. I thought there would be way more sarcastic posts . It's neat to look at the weather forecast and then get real reports from people in the area. However, I do realize that "45F and mizzle" will dominate for a while. Keep us updated on snow!

41 and partly cloudy here, though it'll probably rain later. Late last night we had a brief HARD downpour. For a minute I thought I was still back East!
