I couldn't tell time when I was 5. I could read. I would recognize the name of automobile brands. I could pronounce Chicago properly(blame it on my Midwestern father). I couldn't tell time very well. I didn't know that my kindergarten class was only half day. Bedtime was no issue thought. I went to bed(or took a nap) whenever my parents told me to. It could be broad daylight and I would do so. Same applied to wintertime at night. I remember coming home after kindergarten in November and it was dreary outside. I think I got home around 3PM. It got dark before dinner time. I suspect it was about 5:30PM. It might have been the overcast weather cutting off twilight.

I'm utterly nostalgic. I look back fondly on the late evenings watching television with my mother, eating fish, and later on orange sherbet ice cream. I also remember the very dark evenings(probably winter) when i watched television with my father in the living room, and it was some stuff about war planes.

Today, I am the type of person who could fall asleep in the middle of the day, and be jumping around like a hyper child at midnight.

On the shortest days in winter, the sun definitely sets earlier here than where I lived in TN, but it seems like no more than maybe a 20-30 minutes difference. But on an especially overcast day...BIG difference! I may be the only one, but I kind of like that.

It's no big deal. Las Vegas and LA get dark in December exactly 30 minutes after Seattle.

Guess what?

It's snowing.

Coming down pretty good, too. I have to make one last trip out to the woodpile for the night - I hope I can find it.

Snowing in Burien. And sticking too. Coming down pretty hard all night. I'm at work and have taken a couple of short walks out the front door just to see it.

Not snowing here in the "South Sound", but there is a dusting of snow on the ground ... must have happened in the wee hours.

I've got probably four or five inches this morning. I'm just guessing by what's on my truck (I haven't been outside yet) but that's probably pretty close.

It's actually snowing lightly right now.

I spoke too soon this morning - snow is falling, although it's not sticking!

Just got off of work and it is REALLY coming down here in Burien! Huge white flakes sticking to everything but the streets (so far) but it is making the streets slushy. Headed home now to Magnolia wonder if it will be snowing there too.
