Think it's heading your way. Has died down big time down here. The rain and hail have almost stopped completely and I only hear distant rumbles now.

It's starting to rock and roll here now.

It must be coming from the west because I talked to one of my sons around 4:00 and he was about twenty miles to the west of me (at that time) and he said it was really happening there while I wasn't getting anything where I was at. I am now about half way between where I was at that time and his place.

But, yeah, it's starting to boom here. I wish the dogs would shut up......or this is going to be a very long night here.

(By the way - my son passed his driving test! I think I'm happier than he is, but I about choked when I found out how much more my insurance went up. Good thing he has a really good job.)

Holy moly!

The rain is here!

I wish I had gone out to do my evening chores sooner. Hopefully I can get a ten minute break in this because it is really coming down!

The main event is underway, thunderstorms rapidly intensifying from near the Mt. St Helens area up into the Mt. Rainier N'tl Park where there is a whole lot of lightning along with heavy rain and small hail. Places like Eatonville will be under the gun directly. Also, lots of lightning in a storm NE of Aberdeen on the Oly. Pen.

I suspect as the evening goes on, instability will lower some, so the amount of lightning will come down as well, but you'll still experience at least a few flashes as these storms make their way into the lowlands. The rain will keep up in earnest though and trust me.. this will be a rainmaker!! Still sticking to up to 6 inches near the Paradise area on Rainier.. up to 2" in the SeaTac area not out of the question.

Very impressed with this system.. you'll likely not witness thunder and lightning like this again for awhile.

There's another cell bearing down on Centralia right now. Increasing lightning and the rain just got very heavy again.

This is what happens when monsoon moisture collides with a pacific front.

Great. I'm literally right between Mt. St. Helens and Rainier.

Getting some pretty good boomers going now and the rain is starting back up after giving me a bit of a window to get outside and back in.

Holy crap! While I was typing the above, we just got hit with a HUGE boom!

The dogs are totally freaked out.

The rain is really coming down now but I haven't seen any hail.......yet.
