But next weekend is still in June. I thought people were waiting for July 5th to get their 6 weeks of nice weather.

Even if the forecast is not 100% accurate, it won't change from 90 to 75.

Why you can escape this weekend's heat, but not next weekend's | Weather Blog | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO News

And now it's supposed to be even hotter next weekend too!

I was really hoping it would cool down as I'm leaving for the holiday weekend to Denver and I always worry about my apartment getting too hot while I'm gone since I'm not there in the evenings to air it out. Hopefully the cat will be fine. My old apartment would bake, and he survived that.

I'm still torn on whether to leave the windows shut, or leave them cracked a little so even though hot air may get in during the day, it should at least let the heat escape a bit overnight. Sigh. This is going to be a LONG Summer...

Are people going to die in this heat? No one has air conditioning. My upstairs is no longer liveable. Next week's heatwave is supposed to bring us closer to 100 degrees. WTH?

Can't you take your cat to a kennel while you're gone? This seems like an extremely bad idea.

I went to the coast yesterday. While it was hot everywhere else it was about 60 and foggy at the beach with a stiff wind. Next weekend's heat wave is supposed to push that cool air out to sea with upper 70s and possible 80s even at the beach. That is a rare occurrence there. You can't sunbathe at those beaches very often.
