There are a number of chemicals and heavy metals (and soap) that get washed into the Puget Sound by doing this. It kills fish. So people are encouraged to use car washes, where the waste water gets treated.

I take it in those two months of summer?

Thanks, you certainly answered my questions.
it's dry for more than 2 months. It's more like 4 or even 5 if it's 2014 or 2015 (mid may-mid October).

But even when it's dry, you still have to worry about earthquakes so probably safest to stay in Ohio.

Oh, I wouldn't move to an area that is overdue for 9.0 MEGAQUAKE, for sure, but I want more sun than Ohio, not less, anyway.

I was born in Kellogg, Idaho while my dad was stationed at the AF base in Spokane, WA, mom was visiting her mom there. My mom's family lived in ID, WA, WY, and MT, so all my childhood summers were spent in those areas, plus some time in the Wisconsin area, as my dad's[an only child] parents lived in Milwaukee.

I have lived in Ohio since '68.My late husband was from KY, but he found work here, and we have family there and in IN.

Now my adult son and I would like to leave the humid summers and the winters of Ohio. He wants San Diego[perfect climate, but insane COL, and no water], I'm leaning more towards Boise, ID. Still have a sister in Spokane, but their winters are no improvement, like Boises' would be.

San Diego has never had a major quake, and not really on a major fault.

Curious, you've posted numerous times you don't want to live here, started threads about earthquakes, etc. yet you keep posting here. Why?
