Long story short, My family and I are moving from Fort Worth Texas so I can attend the MSW program of my choice. The program is in North Everett 2 nights a week for 18 months. I will need to work somewhere while I attend school (something to do with mental health, counseling, etc that will take an entry level BSW) I have two small children ages 3 and 4 and my husband is a stay at home dad. I want to rent a home for no more than 1400 a month. Which cities would give me the best access to Seattle and Everett? I'm assuming that my job will be in the Seattle area. We are looking for low crime rates and a slower pace of living. What about Monroe and Sultan? Give me the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm open to suggestions!!

Mill Creek is generally the #1 choice for most people, but it may be out of your price range. Bothell is generally well thought of as well.

One of my favorite places in the whole world is SE Everett zip code 98208. These are the neighborhoods around Silver Lake, and Seattle Hill-Silver Firs. Very good middle-class area, I spent a lot of time there growing up, and it hasn't changed much (only grown exponentially). You should be able to find something in your price range around there.

I wouldn't bother with Monroe, Sultan, etc, unless you really enjoy driving.

I agree with David. I'd also throw in Silver Lake and Mukilteo as places to consider.
