Hello Seattleites!

I am looking for a dog friendly cafe in the Seattle area, preferably near Greenwood/Phinney/northgate.
I have found plenty of cafes that call themselves "dog friendly", but their understanding of such is that dogs are permitted outside in the patio area. I am looking for a cafe where dogs are allowed inside the shop.

Know of such a place?

I don't believe this is allowed ... for health reasons ... unless it is a service dog. Dogs can stay home you know.

Sure it's illegal, but some places get away with it. I think the law is that dogs may not be in a place where the food is prepared...In Fremont, Norm's Eatery and Ale house is full of dogs. In West Seattle, Beveridge Place welcomes dogs inside. Beveridge Place doesn't have a kitchen. They have menus of a few restaurants that are very nearby and will deliver. I'm sure there are other places that allow dogs as well.

This.
Also, many people prefer not to have dogs around them while they eat or are allergic.

True, but the original poster is not suggesting that all restaurants be required to allow dogs in. Even if it were legal to bring dogs into restaurants, most restaurants would choose not to allow them. And those restaurants that did allow dogs would not attract customers who didn't like dogs or who were allergic to them. If I don't like French cuisine, I don't have to eat in French restaurants. If a restaurant allows dogs and I don't like dogs, I don't have to eat there. If a restaurant is willing to allow them, and vacuums up after them, is there truly a compelling health concern that keeps it illegal, or is based more on tradition? Dogs go into some restaurants in some of the world's great cities like Paris and Budapest and London. Is there a higher incidence of allergies or food poisoning there?

I wish more people would adopt this mentality, so sick of people wanting the entire world to fit their preferences.

I know of a couple brewery's that let dogs in but they are not in the Seattle, one is in Arlington area.

Yep, the Beveridge Place is full of big, drippy, smelly, wet, annoying dogs.

I live 6 blocks away, I've been there twice, sat on the patio. Hate that place and the herd of stinky dogs.

We used to raise sheep. They smelled just like all those wet dogs. We didn't take the sheep into bars with us. The sheep were better behaved too.

I know of a couple of place where dogs might be on the menu. If you can't afford a vet, you might be able to kill two birds with one stone by letting it tag along.
