Anyone know realistically what the commute time from the Seattle Hill/Silver Firs area would be? I know there is a connector close to there, anyone know how long that trip takes? I see that most of the travel would be via 405, and that scares me a bit.

Thank you so much!

V. =)

With no stops in between going in the carpool lanes when available I'd say 45 minutes at best. More like an hour seems likely as you get close to the rush hours. I'd try for the earliest start time you can get. That 405 commute is worst through the Kirkland/Bellevue area and luckily you'll only hit the start of it before veering off to 520.

I wouldn't do it.

Great place to grow up (every summer for me ), but I'd never want to commute to MSFT from there.

I agree. North 405 becomes a parking lot in the evenings and if there's rain rather than mist or an accident, it doesn't move for a while.

Thanks everyone for the info. I was afraid of that, it looks really far on the map. I take it there aren't any non-405 routes down to MS from there?

You could drive the Bothell-Everett highway and ultimately connect to 202 to get to Redmond, but it still take quite awhile (because you know... other people do know of this route).

Thanks! That's a bummer, we really like a house up there. Back to the drawing board!

Have you looked at Redmond Ridge? I know it's closer to MSFT than a lot of the other places you are looking at. I know you love the Highlands. Redmond Ridge is a master planned community with several different price ranges. I think it's lk. Wash school district. I am not sure of commute times, but it might be worth looking at.

Thanks! Unfortunately for 4 bedrooms there's nothing in our price range. =\

Shoot! What about Woodinville or Klananie in Issaquah? There are older parts in Samamish 98074 too.
