I know it applies to most of the usa, particularly in the east coast, most of the south, nearly all of the midwest, and east coast and midwest carpetbagged west coast cities like sf and la, but if the same ol' "let's hate black males even though the only thing black about them is the color of their skin" song and dance is true in seattle, then count me out from relocating there. And the fact that desirable places like bellevue has a pathetically low black population (and i'm just using seattle and washington state standards) doesn't help your argument neither.
wtf??

I'll say it again, "Who cares" and I'll add that people need to stop trying so hard and live. Group logic, generalizations or not...

Well, obviously you people still do since you keep clicking, posting in and continue bumping this thread. Even I stopped posting and reading after we hit page 3 (which was numerous months ago), and I'm surprised this thread lasted THIS long.

I've gotten all the advice I need from a few people I can count on one hand, while the rest of you just continued to prove my point. I even had an asian girlfriend during the time people have been bickering back and forth in this drama filled thread. So during all this time, I've already made the necessary adjustments to my attitude and started dealing abroad. Believe it or not, I was only part of the problem, but the guy from Idaho pretty much hit the nail on the head. But the problem is solved, therefore the thread has long outlived it's usefulness.

Can we just let it die now?

Like myself, you're probably in many ways a non-stereotypical black person, and want to be far removed from all the negative things generally found in cities with really large black populations.

Unfortunately, in your haste to escape all of that, you sought out the opposite of where you were currently living: Seattle, for instance.
The reality is, you probably weren't seeking Seattle, but an extremely diverse, cosmo city, where you can just be 'you', and associate with other atypical black people.
This is the boat that I am in. I am willing to go to the deep end of the ocean, in order to escape the apathy, depravity, and pure ignorance that I am forced to encounter daily. I do not know if you are well traveled or not, but if you are, do you have any suggestions for cities that you feel would allow me to be "me" with other atypical black folks? I'm still very interested in Seattle or Portland, but if you have any other cities that I should consider, please share.

It's kind of like how my ex-gf had no sense of humor - imo, anyway - and the woman I became interested in right after her, I fell head over heels for. Guess what she had? A GREAT sense of humor. Unfortunately, because I was so fixated on that, I didn't realize until later that she and I couldn't have been more incompatible.
I'm with queenvic on this. Where can blacks who don't tow the "Negro line" and play the "ethnic role" of gangsta, dope-boy, or baby mama/daddy, can find our place? Because it damn sure isn't the "black meccas" that gets shoved in our faces. I've personally went out of my way researching for such a place, and was referred by MANY people (including some blacks) that Seattle was one of the best places. And now, every other post (at least on this thread) is saying otherwise. So WTF is it?

And for me, it's not about finding a place for just atypical blacks, although I would be way more open to befriending and living amongst them rather than the stereotypical tards. I personally don't mind interacting, befriending, and living alongside other races and would rather be in a place where there isn't an ethnic majority, as long as I can either:

Culturally relate to them Americans/Westerners with liking the same music, sports, or activities

or

They're immigrants who are open-minded to befriending and dating blacks

And as we know, most parts of the country are anything but what I described. It's either "stay in your place or be a permenant outcast". And the cities that have a decent amount of racial integration are "coincidentally" some of hardest economically hit places.

Atypical? Non-stereotypical Black person? Something about the usage of these terms seems problematic.
