Hi!

About a week ago, I recently went in for in-house interviews at Amazon. While waiting for them to let me know if they want me for the position or not, I checked the Amazon.Jobs profile thing today to see if that had updated. I found that they added a new job ID/position (with the same job title) to it. So now I have two of the same positions open and pending, and both are marked "Under Review." Would you say that this is a good thing, or should I not read too much into it?

Thank you for your information!

It doesn't mean anything. That status page is totally messed-up. Initially recruiter contacted me for one position, during initial interview I saw another application with my name and my final offer letter is for another position. They don't update application status nor they maintain it properly. So just ignore that status page. You will find the same info on Quora too.

Lol, wow!

Ok, cool. I will no longer pay any attention to Amazon.Jobs to try an understand my situation.

Thanks!

Hello folks,

Going currently through the hiring process myself. Does anyone have any input on the Safety Engineer positions? I am curious about the type of questions they would ask since the role is slightly technical but not as technical as software positions.

Thanks

update: emailed my recruiter Monday morning and she got back in 5 mins asking for my resume (I already sent it on LinkedIn, but I guess she never picked up on it) and that she still wanted to talk to me.

I saw that the job has been added to my online profile, but no interview date set yet.

It seems to me that my recruiter is doing at least double duty if not more. She must be super overwhelmed with all the apps, I can't think of anything else why she would reach out to me and then have it so slow to set up an initial phone screen.

So I'm back where I was a week ago and I'm waiting to see if I get an email with a proposed phone screen this week...

UPDATE: Interestingly, I received good AND bad news from one of the recruiters...

The Good: So the recruiter said that my in-house interviews went really well as the interviewers thought I was the perfect fit for the position and team.

The Bad: HOWEVER, the position I applied for was filled (they had several they needed to fill).

I was told that when a similar position is requested to fill (they will continue to expand the team over the next 6 months), I would be the first know.

Has anyone ever heard of this? Does this happen often?

Thanks!

TN

I would take that as a good sign - definitely better than a rejection.

I had my on-site for an in-house position several days after you, felt very good about it (though that seems to be the story on here), and have heard nothing for coming up on two weeks, even after a polite email checking in for feedback.

Is it normal to just have complete silence from the recruiter? I am fairly certain that is a very negative sign and I will not be getting an offer but just wanted to see if other people had been completely ignored or if they eventually got a "thanks but no thanks" call or email. Would like to have some closure here.

Thanks!
