Me & My wife are moving to the Seattle general area after I retire in 3+ years. We do not want to live in metro Seattle but inone of the suburbs or even a small town..Since I willl be retired by then we should not have to worry about commuting issues . My stepson & his family live in Auburn so we want to be in a decently short driving distance. I am interested in a place that has low crime & is a good affordable place with services for retirees. After living in Brooklyn al my life I am geting too old for the "Urban Street issues" (Gangs, drug dealing, low quality of life, etc.)

Question Enumclaw

Any advice for retirees about Enumclaw as far as crime & affordable housing are concerned?

Smile Retirement

Check out Sequim Washington it is considered a retirement community and
caters to seniors in that it offers good medical facilities, community events,
etc. Crime is at a minimum (having come originally from Seattle it is one of the things I like best.) Most folks are transplants from other places and
friendly and open minded. It takes me about 2 hours to get to Seattle but
its and enjoyable drive as it is pretty. Oh! we get less rain here as there is
a Rainshadow effect because of the mountains I think annually its about 11 inches. Good Luck!!
