Planning our vacation in October and excited at the number of Hawaiian Plate lunch opportunities in the area. What is your favorite place? Thanks!

They get one L&L in Renton, and get one in Federal Way.

My favorite is Aloha Plates in the Uwajimaya Food Court in the International District - it's always my pre-Mariners game go-to place. Followed, of course, by a treat from the nearby Yummy House Bakery (also in the Food Court).

Thanks for the input! Sounds like I'll be having plate lunch twice!

Kauai Family Restaurant in Georgetown is one of the best Hawai'i food in the Seattle area.

I like L&L a lot too, most because they're one of the few places that does spam musubi. But they've more of a "fast food" feel vs. other places.

L&L is ok. It was a bit bland, but yes that would be something to expect from a "fast food" type of place.

I did like Hawaii BBQ Restaurant in U-District.

Wow - lots of options! So Shave(d) Ice at any of these places? Living in Illinois has really destroyed our ability for good plate lunch and Shave(d) Ice. Loving that Seattle has so many options!

I haven't found one in Seattle, but you need to come down to PDX. A new Shave Ice cart just opened, the owner is Hawaiian and is doing it the right way. He even has ingredients flown over directly from Hawai'i.

Organic Island Snow Hawaiian Shave Ice | Food Carts Portland

We have a couple of other Shave Carts carts here too. '

Everything in Seattle is probably average. Kona Kitchen might rise a little above the rest.
