Hey everybody.
SO, I'm moving to the Seattle area soon, from the San Jose, CA suburb of Campbell where I live now. I was wondering if there is anyone familiar with both areas that could tell me what suburb/neighborhood in the Seattle area would feel most similar to Campbell in terms of general demographics and safety, etc. Yes, I know it's not going to be exactly the same, but if you can recommend any area(s) that are similar, it would give me a place to start. Thanks so much.

Campbell is pretty standard slightly upscale suburban, you could find that in Issaquah, Redmond, parts of Bellevue and parts of Kirkland.

Thanks Seacove.
Any areas slightly less remote, possibly in Seattle proper that would qualify? I have been looking at the Alki/Admiral/West Seattle Areas, but then some things I've read make it sound like everything south of downtown and west of Lake Washington is one big sprawling bad neighborhood...

Sure you could look at West Seattle which is a very nice area and there are nice residential neighborhoods in Seattle, no question. Because you said "suburb like Campbell", that's sort of specific and I would say the closest to Campbell would be Issaquah which is actually really easy to get to Seattle on 90. Mercer Island is also easy but Campbell has the neighborhoody feel which Mercer Island doesn't match quite as closely to. West Seattle has a blog you might check out: West Seattle Blog….

I see. And thanks again.

So what types of things in the west Seattle area do you think I would find most different, as compared to say issaquah, or mercer Island?

I would say Issaquah and West Seattle are more similar. I mentioned Mercer Island because it's upscale residential but it doesn't have as many events and such the way Issaquah does - which is a lot. And West Seattle has a lot of that too and the Farmer's Market and such. It's just my impression that Issaquah does more. Downtown Issaquah | Historically Hip

I'm from the Bay Area, and would consider West Seattle to be more like Burlingame/Milbrae. Campbell is much like Issaquah and Redmond, though neither is as diverse as Campbell.

Hmm, good to know.

Perhaps I should have asked what part of Seattle proper, is closest to Campbell.

I have been looking around the west seattle area but it seems like I either have to choose from a good neighborhood and a trashy apt. or a good apt. in a trashy neighborhood.

I think I've fallen in love with Alki, but still looking.

Sounds like Issaquah would be a good match.
