We are looking at a house in the Klahanie neighborhood in Issaquah to rent for the next 3 years while we are out here. Does anyone know anything about this neighborhood or where I could get information about it. I just drove up there to look at the house and really liked the area but don't know too much about the Plateau. Any help would be great!

Thanks!

I used to live in Klahanie It's where we bought our first house - 2001.

I haven't been up that way in years - but when we were there, we loved it. It has a really nice neighborhood school. Lots of fields and trails. 2 community pools, and an active park/pakyground area. You can walk to coffee, grocery, pizza, ice cream and other little neighborhoody stores. Quick and easy access to Redmond and Sammamish and a quick ride down the hill into Issaquah... nothing bad to say about it at all! Well, the weather is a tad more extreme there, due to being at the foothills of Snoqualmie.

Gorgeous area.

Thanks for your help Jenbar.

What do you mean by extreme weather though? We have lived in Issaquah for a year now down by Fred Meyer, what is the difference up there? Thanks!!!!!

More rain during storms.... very windy at times... and more likely to get snow, and have it accumulate than elsewhere. Not "severe" as in, it would be difficult to get through it or that it would cause a problem, really... but you just tend to get "more" of what the area is getting... if I am making sense...

We have been snowed in before when we were living there. We had lost power from wind... and Issaquah in general is known for flooding during the stormy months. (Fall into Winter).
