I'm looking for a pediatrician who isn't militantly pro-vaccinations. My husband and I would like to delay and selectively vaccinate. We're having a hard time finding a pediatrician that respects our decision, which is all that we're asking for, we don't expect one to agree with us.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

V. =)

If you are willing to TRAVEL - Dr. Springer in Wallingford is your dream pediatrician. Seriously.

But... if you prefer to stay on the east side, we used Woodinville Pediatrics and they were fine. Also, we have used Pediatric Associates, and it may vary by doctor - but we didn't have any problems with them. I liked the Sammamish office. Disclaimer! I used them in 2001-2003. Don't know how they are now.

We also delay and selectively vaccinate. Honestly, many many families in the Seattle area do, so I can't really see you having too much of a problem.

Thanks for the help, I might contact Dr. Springer.

We were promptly ushered from a ped's office today as soon as we said we'd like to selectively and delay vax'ing, so we were sort of surprised by that.

I didn't contact Pediatric Associates, as their website pretty militantly disclaims them to be pro-vaccination without exception. I suppose it must vary by doctor.

Thank you again!!!

V. =)

Wow, what ped's office?

Like I said, we used Peds Assoc a long time ago - but they were open to my request to split up the MMR.

Wallingford Pediatrics - Dr. Springer
4005 Wallingford Ave N
Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 632-0542

If you google him, there are several reviews for him. Most good. When my now 7 and 5 year old were 2 and an infant he was pretty much THE guy to go to.

Thanks again for the info!

The ped's office that escorted us out yesterday was Cascade Pediatrics. We were pretty incredulous!

I've heard of that before. Basically the office doesn't want to be responsible for any illnesses your child may get as a result of non-vaccination so they would rather not work on your child at all.

We are delaying vax for our son and we see Pediatric Associates in Totem Lake (Dr. Wu to be more specific) She is pro vax of course but works with us and what we want to do. I really like her a lot.
