Hi Everyone,

I am planning to attend Lake Washington Technical Institute in January and I have a few questions.

1. In your opinion, is this a good school?

2. Where is the cheapest place to live that is still within a reasonable driving distance to the school? And by cheapest, I mean cheapest I can go without having to worry about being murdered.

I'm from out of state so I really have no concept of the "good and bad areas" of Seattle, I have the same issues with the "good and bad schools" as well.

Thank you in advance for any answers.

What are you studying? They have a good reputation for many programs, but not as good as the Art Institute for others.
If you can afford Kirkland where the school is there are no unsafe or bad areas. There's nothing much cheaper until you get to Kenmore, and no really sketchy areas until you get to Lake City. Even there it's not too bad except within a few blocks of Lake City Way. Going other directions you have Woodinville and Redmond which are about the same prices as Kirkland.

I plan to study Game Development/Design. As far as I can tell, they seem to have a decent program for it here. I know there are several other colleges around that offer the program, but this one seems to give you the most bang for your buck.

Also, thank you for listing those areas I will have to look into them.
