Some of the most idiotic discussions on City-Data are also the longest. Six pages on this one already.

And as humans we wonder why there is so much negativity and cruelty in this world. This thread is a prime example.

Have a beautiful day and the next time you see someone that your perceive as ugly because your so opinionated... Smile at them and say hello. Maybe.... Just maybe you'll both come out of the situation happier people!

As soon as this won't result in one having to file stalking charges against the person they smiled at, eventually... Really, this discussion is "way out there". One can can see how people make entire websites about Seattle being full of ugly people, etc, etc, non sense. The original post seems insincere/an attempt to get people to bite the bait.

Is Seattle UP (Ugly People) tolerant?
You should spend your time in therapy instead of posting on here! You are not ugly!!!

This is a joke:

You're so ugly, you can sink your face in dough and make monster cookies.

Lol

A better thread topic would be "Why can't Seattle stop itself from being so self-absorbed?" or "Is Seattle petty or does the population need to brood upon itself naturally?". "Is Seattle a giant garden bed surrounding a Grecian pond?" might work too.

Many of them are professionals working in highly technical fields, drawn here for that reason. They're environmentally conscious. This type of person has many, many priorities, of which 'looking hot' probably ranks less highly on the list than in a deeply image-conscious area of the country, so yes -- the amount of time they're going to invest in polish is significantly less, and yes, it really DOES make THAT big a difference.

Really well said and totally agree. Seattle is a bookworm city, gloomy northern weather, liberal and alternative, granola and grungy. The people do look plainer there, and it's not an illusion to me either. It is true it also attracts people from other parts of the country who are more into intellect than image. The SF Bay area is like that too.

Do agree you generally see better looking people in the South and Midwest though.
