I was just kind of curious to gauge the locals' feelings about these areas. I don't think I have ever driven through them before (or, at least realized I have). So let's say Thomas Ave west to the lake and north of that street, would you live here/go to the various parks in this area?

EDIT:

Sorry, I will try to be a little more clear about the area...

I mean the area that includes:

-Cal Anderson Park
-Miller Park
-Madison Park
-Interlaken Park

Hopefully that helps you understand my inability to describe a map haha.

That is a pretty decent size area, so maybe it is 50/50 higher crime area/lower crime.

Also, there is a tall building (looks kind of living an apartment building maybe) on 43rd and Garfield...what is it (I believe it is brown, I just see it on google earth).

Thanks guys!

The western part of Capitol Hill has the most crime. So Cal Anderson Park has more crime in it and around it than Interlaken Park. Miller Park is somewhere in between, and the Madison Park area is safe. That high risebuilding next to the lake at 43rd and Garfield is a condo building. Madison Park is a kind of fancy, safe neighborhood. Interlaken Park is surrounded by expensive homes. Cal Anderson has the most population density around it.

If you want to keep abrust of the crime scene, here is a good website, which covers crime as well as all the construction activities and social scenes in the Capital Hill area. Home | CHS Capitol Hill Seattle
