Great topic! I'm moving to Seattle very soon and being from sunny SoCal my kids are always outside playing. I wonder the same thing. I'm assuming lots of indoor group gatherings

Its wet?

Well, if you're soo over taking a walk outside (with child properly dressed of course)... then it's time to engage in ... indoor play. A lot of neighborhoods and towns have a Community Center that have "Tot Lot" time a couple times a week where kids can run around and play with other little kids. I'm not sure where in Seattle you're at, but look up the Seattle Recreation page to find one closest to you: Seattle Parks & Recreation: Centers

Or you could look to ParentMap - Seattle Activities for Kids, Parenting Articles and Resources for Families to get some ideas... like right now, they're showing on their event calender: Lil' Diggers Playtime - Calendar - ParentMap

I took my grandson to the aquarium today in the rain. It was pretty awesome. I hadn't been there in 20 something years. Most libraries have story time both for real young kids and older kids. The community centers have all kinds of stuff going on, both in Seattle and the suburbs, from athletics to drama to art, etc.. Starfire Sports in Tukwila is a huge indoor and outdoor soccer facility.

Good question, but ironically we have had very little rain for the past 4 months.

Put a coat on them and send them outside..?

You gotta learn to embrace the weather here, or you'll be miserable. People here do not limit themselves to indoor activities just because it's raining a little.

We just moved here in September and have a 16 month old daughter. I bought her a nice rain coat and boots and when it's just drizzling outside, we go out there anyway and she loves it!

Here are some indoor activities that we've found so far:

- Issaquah community center has indoor playtime for toddlers from 8 am - noon (I believe it's only $2 to get in)
- Seattle Aquarium: my daughter especially enjoys the touch tanks and just looking at the fish in the aquarium tanks
- Bellevue Square Mall has a nice play area for little ones on the 3rd floor (free)
- Issaquah and Sammamish libraries are both nearby me and have story times for "waddlers" and other age groups (free)
- Kid Quest is a children's museum in Bellevue that I plan to check out. It has programs by age group that you can sign up for
- Music Together or Kindermusic programs

This website has great ideas, too: Seattle Kids Activities | Things to Do With Children in Seattle

Barnes and Noble, and its cafe'.

Oh, he's a kid. Well, you could get him acclimated to Seattle book and coffee weather as a youngster.
