It's really hit and miss. This past weekend we had beautiful sunsets because it was nice out! Although it rained most of yesterday, there were cloud breaks and we had a nice sunset---but that is south puget sound---It's been raining most of today and although the sky was blue earlier, it's solid gray now and raining. Seattle proper sometimes has different weather---cloudy when it's rainy 45 minutes south and vice versa. Where are you coming from? I used to live in Texas where we had lots of big sky views and glorious sunsets and star littered nights. I miss those.

Though we do occasionally get some really nice ones, we're not really known for that since we have too many evenings with too much cloud cover. Ideally you do want some clouds for the sunlight to reflect off of, but often have too much, obscuring the sunset rather than highlighting it.

They are really pretty - but you have to remember it's very cloudy here - the majority of the time...as opposed to Calif - there's not much "sky time" around here

Our sunrises tend to be better than our sunsets overall.

Yeah---on a clear morning (a rarity) when I can actually see Mt Rainier on the drive to work, man---pinks, oranges, blues, purples all around the mountain. She's just standing there big as day. *sigh* Seems I can count on two hands the mornings that's happened this year.

Coming from Dallas (Allen.) I'm pretty excited about coming. Have gained lots of info from this site and think Seattle's pros will outweigh the cons. I will miss sunsets, robust thunderstorms and the stars at night.

I'll take the mountain views, water views and green, lush trees and plants any day.
