I am a weather buff, ad check numerous cities regularly.

Upon checking your weather in December and January this season, I don't notice it's raining at any particular moment, just clouds. Really, rain doesn't appear that often in my daily checks...

But even worse, what's with all the fog and "freezing fog" lately? Several days this week, visibility is zero miles. Right now, it's zero, whereas PDX is 8 miles. Most cites I research seem to be at 10 miles visibility most of the time.

Is zero visibility not as bad as I think while in the morning commute? Not as many accidents as I'd think? Just slower commutes, that's all?

Does the fog usually burn off by mid-morning? Does this occur in other months?

We don't have a lot of fog the rest of the year, this freezing fog is common in winter but in 20 years here I don't remember having it for over a week, nor do I remember having no rain or snow in January for over a week. The rain is supposed to be back Wednesday, for which I am grateful, because we have not been above freezing in over a week here.

Yeah, this is an unusually long period of fog. But I'll take it because it's been dry!

We do get fog every fall and winter, but this many continuous days must set some kind of a record. Stil, I like it(except when I'm driving.) It's mysterious, makes me feel like I'm in a Sherlock Holmes movie or something.

I'm ready for some "normal" weather. I get grumpy when I can't find the "Issaquah Alps".

Must be a lot of black ice on the roads, especially on lesser travelled roads? I know when I lived in Germany cold fog was pretty common and a lot of roads had black ice.

From my house in Sammamish it's down steep hills to go anywhere, and it been white knuckels every morning with a new frozen fog layer on top of the old.

Last night on my way home from work I could barely see the lines on the road from 148th in Burien to the 1st Ave S bridge! Thick fog like this for such an extended period is highly unusual.

We had a lot of rain in December but freezing fog day after day is uncommon. But, each winter is different. If we can get past Febuary without snow then we will not likely get any, -just more rain and now apparently, fog.
