So the last thread I could find about this is like a year old. Any RNs around this place? I won't be relocating for a few years so I can save up some more. I know the market was terrible a year ago! I'm specifically looking for info on which neighborhoods would offer the best commute to Seattle Children's. I'm single, no kids, but have a pet. I don't need luxury. Just clean and safe. Public transit would be cool but I'll have my own transportation.

I realize no one has a crystal ball but if someone could give me a snapshot on how things are looking now, I'd appreciate it!

Are you looking for info on the housing market or on the job market? I can tell you that healthcare in the PNW has been hit hard by the economy although not as hard as other industries. I don't know the situation at Childrens but I know that the pediatric unit in my area didn't have an opening until someone died or retired.

Thank you for responding I've got a pulse on the job market (here's hoping it starts improving in the next couple years!) so my question is about housing. I'm looking for neighborhoods within reasonable commute time (<30 minutes preferably) of Seattle Children's. 1 bedroom with off street parking in an area where I won't have to worry too much about safety. I'm single, no kids, and will have a pet. I'll also have a car so public transit for work isn't necessarily a must, but would be nice.

I'm planning a trip out this summer to start walking neighborhoods just to get a feel for the non touristy side of Seattle. As I said, this is a long term plan - I just want to put some feelers out! I only brought up the job aspect so people would have an idea of what kind of budget I'll have. Thanks again for any help!
