This has probably been asked many times before, but I have been mildly interested in moving to Seattle for the past few years and I'm curious what good 2-3 bedroom apartments go for in Seattle.

By "good" I mean a place that is next to entertainment, food, low crime, well-designed, in apartment washier/dryer etc.

Well the one bedrooms are going from 900 for older properties, to 1060-1100 for the newer ones, by the shopping areas, in the nice neighborhoods. It's easy to do a search on apartmentsearch.com and forrent.com - forrent's numbers are a little bit outdated again in some apartment complexes, apartmentsearch seems to have caught up. But forrent is pretty close. It's not surprising to find when I call the apt myself that the actual rent they are renting for is more than they advertised online. That is, unless you get to the apartment management website itself, to see the actual availability/rates.

I would think you could find a comparable mortgage, to what you'd pay renting a 2-3 bedroom apt. Maybe renting a house would be a better option. By the way, that's based on my searches more of around Seattle - IN Seattle's in some cases more, or usually, the same price, but smaller square footage.
