Trying to find a place to recycle my motor oil and filter from my car. Anyone know of a place?

Look into:

Motor oil recycling stations - Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County

Do call the place first. The one thing that my husband would get so annoyed with is when he takes the dirty oil there and they can't accept because they're too full and are waiting to dump it.

I take mine to Oreilly's. They dump it and return the container. City of Seattle says to wrap the filter in a bag and put it in the garbage.

I pop into just about any auto parts store for oil recycling. In the back, inside, they have a drum for used oil. Bring your own gloves and cleanup stuff, keep the mess to a minimum or get the old hairy eyeball from employees.

I personally find it polite to then buy a few quarts on my way out, but that might not be "necessary" per se.
