But in response to your sinkhole comment, IIRC the Nisqually quake did cause a sinkhole close to Olympia.
So you're telling me a person will die from the ground shaking in the same way they will drown in a flood or possibly die from a lightening strike or freeze in a blizzard? Are you or are you not suggesting this? Seems like things are going right through your head.

That post was a sarcastic post. And I'm guessing sarcasm isn't your thing?

Obviously these things go right through your head, after all you're the one actually seriously responding to the whole Earthquake possibility of a resonant frequency that can blow a human apart.

Please excuse me. I am used to the CA forum where these sorts of things are seriously said and the people mean it. Ugh no I am sarcastic IRL seriously haha.

We had a 5.something a week or so ago. It was strong enough and long enough to wake me up, but not enough to actually get out of bed. Most desert rats don't even feel anything less than a 3. We're moving to Washington over the next couple of months, and I'm more worried about the snow than earthquakes.

This is a pic of the earth shift caused by the Landers quake in '92. It was a 7.3, and caused a grand total of 3 deaths. Two people had heart attacks, and a 3 year old died when bricks from a fireplace fell on him. This was followed by a 6.5 quake in Big Bear, just a few hours later. It was my last day of maternity leave, and the biggest problem I had was not being able to get to the store to prepare for my first week back at work.
.

Gentoo's not playing. People asking about California come up with all kinds of earthquake nonsense. I'm sure someone will be quoting the "bone shattering frequency" line for years to come!

Thanks for backing me on that. I felt the Landers and Big Bear quakes in San Deigo. Two big quakes 3 hours apart.

We were in Morongo Valley, close to Landers. My older daughter wouldn't leave my side. We had good sized "earthshakes" for at least 2 days after the biggies.

So let me just say that...to the person who said I wouldn't probably die from a quake alone, but from buildings or things of that nature that would be the item that could kill me...

You do know....this is a city, right?
