Any of the schools in the Lake Washington, Issaquah, Bellevue, or Mercer Island districts are excellent. In other
cities, especially Seattle, they can vary, so research and comments from current parents may be needed. I have only seen magnet schools in Seattle but if I remember correctly they were found to be unconstitutional and ended a few years back. Instead they have schools with programs specializing in an area of study such as the International Schools.

There are several International Schools in the Seattle area. The problem is you'd have to start the lottery process early on (to be accepted in 5th grade). There already is a waiting list if a spot opens up later on. So if your child is older, your odds are not good at all. Now there are other kinds of programs around. It really depends on the area you're going to live in and what that area's school district offers.
