I'm new to the Seattle area I've been here about 4 months. What are some of your favorite summer & fall fairs and festivals in the Seattle area and throughout the state of WA?

One of my favorites you missed already, the irrigation Festival in Sequim.
There is also a Dungeness Crab Festival in Port Angeles, in October. Closer to me is the Issaquah Salmon Days, also in October. The Sequim Lavender Festival is not one I go to now, one year was enough. It's in July. Seattle itself has many food and music related events. You just missed the Maritime Festival, but there is the Beerfest, Seafair, Bite of Seattle, Bumbershoot and Hempfest to name a few of the more popular.

A popular festival that is going on until tonight is Folklife at Seattle Center. Seattle Center has a great calendar of festivals throughout the year, including the World Rhythm Festival, which is one of my favorites.

The Seattle Weekly is usually a good source of info. The Fremont Solstice festival is also fun, known for it's painted nude bikers.

There's the fair in Puyallup. I was around last year from it and had a blast.

I checked out the Northwest Folk Festival at the Seattle Center on Sunday, had a great time and loved it. Especially since it was a short bus ride from where I live. It made me think I need a hit list of festivals to get out to. I read the bluegrass festival in Darrington is supposed to be good, I saw Bainbridge Island has a bluegrass event too. I plan to hit the Fremont Fair and Bumpershoot looks good. I also have to get out to at least one Blues Music Festival every summer and a Rodeo too.
