Let me begin by saying I am an avid researcher on the boards and I indeed do my legwork. But instead of sifting through countless pages of people speaking about how: 1)SAD did them in and they moved, or 2)that they were not affected by it from the beginning, or 3)they live in Seatle and just simply tolerate SAD,

I wanted to specifically ask a question regarding a different scenario:

Is there anyone here who lives in the city and upon first moving developed clinical SAD, but then in the subsequent years learned to adjust and eventually, sooner or later, completely overcame the symptoms, and found themselves without the disorder any longer and thus found themselves in a much happier, positive state-of-mind?

In other words, is there anyone who can chime in that actually -beat- the effects of SAD -without- moving at all?

Love to hear from you folks if so. Thank ya much.

Some of the outlying areas, especially the eastside, have even more cloudy/wet weather than Seattle. In my family of 5 only one was affected by it, and has used one of those lights that comes on in the morning to imitate sunrise from about September-May. She has not overcome it, just deals with it, but is otherwise happy here, going on 20 years now. She does take a trip to California every couple of years to visit family and friends and that seems to help.
