Hey guys,

I am moving from overseas to Seattle for work. I haven't secured an apartment in Seattle yet as I will do that once I get to Seattle. However, before I leave current city for Seattle, I need to ship my stuff, and I can't to that without an exact address in Seattle.

Is there some sort of storage service in Seattle that I can ship to? I thought about remote PO boxes, but I don't think they accept large packages as I would have.

I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

Thanks, but I was actually hoping for a more concrete suggestion or recommendation. My impression is that most of these storage services are self-storage, so there is no way for me to store anything in them unless I am physically in the storage area. I will contact them and see if they can arrange receiving shipments.

Any other suggestions?

If you are shipping through PODs (or something like PODs), usually they can hold it at their storage facility until you find a place. You just pay "rent" (holding fee).

You want to look for "Package Storage." Public Storage Places will do this on a hit or miss basis, you'll need to call each one to find out. Depending on how much stuff you're shipping, it might be easier to have someone on your end send it to you after you arrive and secure an apartment though.

Little known secret, if you're shipping via UPS, you can ship to the distribution center and they will hold there for a week until you pick up. I've used this multiple times in the past across the US, but you'll need to call UPS Customer Service to arrange this.
