First time to seattle.. whats a decent hotel, min 4*, $300/nt and under with a good vibe (similar to W) with a nice pool and lobby bar? or am i asking too much? prefer central to nightlife, restaurants, and attractions. thanks in advance.

I don't think I ever seen a pool, but otherwise Hotel Max seems to fit what you're looking for. I've a couple out of towner friends stay at this hotel and it's pretty sick.

I don't know how to be a good judge of 'vibe', but I really enjoy the Renaissance (Marriot) at 6th & Madison. They have a restaurant with an amazing view on the 28th floor, and the pool and fitness room is up there as well. They have a lobby bar as well, but I'd skip it in preference of the restaurant upstairs which also has a good bar combined with that view (you can get HH pricing in the whole place til 7). I guess I would describe it as modern and upscale, but doesn't feel overly formal.

They are in close proximity to a large number of restaurants, a quick walk to shopping and a cheap, short cab ride to places like Belltown and Seattle Center. It's also a quick walk to Pike/Pine on Cap Hill. Only downside is that some of their rooms do overlook the freeway - they'll still have a good view, but if this is something that would bother you, you may want to request something on the west side of the building. Also - staying in an upper floor is worth it.

I would look at Hotel Max, and Hotel Andra. Andra is a really cool Scandinavian inspired hotel that is right on the corner of 4th and Virginia(the Tom Douglas intersection) and only like three blocks from the retail core.
