Growing up in Federal Way, I am too familiar with Wild Waves. But by 8th grade th park had lost it's luster for me. It was run down, boring, and WAY overpriced. It has changed with new ownership the past few years (I only went cause my friends had free tickets) but it seems like this area could do better. Do you think in the coming decade we could see a new amusement/water park of some kind in the area? Would you welcome it?

I personally think a top of the line indoor Water park would be a great addition to the area. That or an Indoor(-ish) Amusement park, kind of like Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.

The weather is not good for outdoor theme park most of the year. This is why they should make an indoor park and there will be a lot of visitors all year.

Hang tight...I predict the areas biggest draw in the upcoming months will be Weed World.

We have an indoor water park - Great Wolf Lodge. Kids seem to love it...it's a destination location for most families I know with children. Although I will say that I hate the idea of indoor water parks. I dunno, it just feels like water slides should be outside. But I feel the same way about pools in general. I hate chlorinated air.

When I was a kid there was a small, but perfectly adequate, water park between Bellevue and Issaquah (right next to I-90) called Water Works. That was a fun place.

Great wolf lodge isn't that great. That's more for little kids anyways. I'm talking about a Waterpark like the one in the West Edmonton Mall.

Probably never happen. It takes a lot of acreage and land is expensive, plus there are too many other things to do here all year. After the novelty wore off there wouldn't be enough business to sustain it.

Not necessary for a water park. I could easily see it drawing weekend visitors from Vancouver and Portland areas, Spokane as well! The market of indoor waterparks has proven the people are willing to travel to them in the winter months. I could easily see it being profitable. A theme park on the over hand is a whole nother story.

Depends on the theme. If they opened a Disney resort here in the woods and mountains somewhere perhaps that could work, but theyd have to improve winter access. An indoor waterpark might not work because folks here don't seem like the swimming bunch, otherwise more parks would have opened by now.

Ive never felt that people dont like swimming in this area. Heck last week so many people went to wild waves they were backing up 1-5 in federal way. I think the problem is just the risk. Investors don't want to spend million or millions of dollars on something they may excel or backfire. Remember the economy is still recovering.
