Seattle is not anywhere near the same level of walkability as a European City, but it certainly trumps most American cities in walkability. San Francisco and Boston are much more similar in terms of urban feel to a European city. Seattle has other aspects that feel European, like the huge soccer culture.

Just to add to this thread, rather than start a new one, I've got a fondness for all things Japanese, and living in California I've got the fantastic Mitsuwa plazas. Does Seattle have anything like these stores? I know Mitsuwa is not in Washington but with Nintendo there, it has to have a decent sized Japanese community.
