That's overblown and out-dated. We have spent time there lately and the only odd thing we have seen is a tendency for young women to wear shorts with cowboy boots and not that many of them. Lynnwood is more affordable than the eastside, and has some really nice areas. Look in the area east and north of where I5 and 405 meet for example (Just south of Martha lake)

Yes. Lynnwood spent a lot of money back in 2009 to re-brand their image away from big hair and blue eye shadow.

The article confirms what I said "Gone are the days of blue eye shadow and big hair" but I wonder what they spent that money on, I have not heard of anyone talking about Lynnwood, nor have I seen any advertising or publicity for it. I do know several people that are happy living there.

Federal Way, used to be to small commuter suburb but due to a growing population (Estimates for 2012 were 95,000) and Low rise condos sprawling up, the city has unfortunately gained a bad rep. It's very affordable though, with great amenities for a suburb of it's size.Beach access, lot's of parks, and fairly decent schools. Good place to be on a median sized budget if you dont mind commuting to Seattle (anywhere from 25-40 minutes depending on traffic and time of day).

If they made an effort to rebrand their town, it must have worked. I've only been to Lynnwood a few times, but my lasting memory is strip malls. Like a Tukwila for the north side, only nicer.
