During the night or early morning hours I find that some critter has eaten more of my flowers & foliage on my gated deck. It particularly likes my Coleus plants. I've ruled out deer because of my gates, so do squirrels or mice do this?

Slugs love coleus. Our rabbits and deer stick to the hostas and roses.

Put some cheap beer out in a shallow container and see if you get any slugs.

I'm guessing Seattle slugs prefer one of our many microbrews - cheap beer will probably not work.

Classic Tobester. I must ask though. If an organic, local microbrew is used to torture a slug, does it make it karmically defensible?
