Hi all,

I'm moving from NYC to Seattle and trying to figure out the neighborhoods. I've narrowed it down to:

- Belltown
- Downtown (Olive Way, Pine St, Pike St)
- Lower Queen Anne
- Capitol Hill

Which neighborhood would be best for a young professional who isn't that crazy about going out, living near bars, etc. Would prefer clean, safe, convenient area with like-minded professional neighbors and nicer restaurants, gyms, supermarkets, etc.

I currently live in Tribeca and would like a similar vibe (Tribeca/West Village) in Seattle.

Thanks!

Lower Queen Ann meets your criteria the most.

Either of those two, or Greenlake.

Belltown, Downtown and Capital Hill would likely be too lively for you.

The Pike/Pine area of Capitol Hill is the most NYC feeling neighborhood in Seattle...feels a little like the less gritty part of the LES, Tribeca, Cobble Hill. You can walk to everything! In my opinion, as a native Manhattanite it feels the most urban/residential of any of the neighborhoods in the city proper. Everything you listed can be found in that part of Capitol Hill and while there is night life too, the area is filled with really nice lofts and condo's, restaurants, great grocery store (Madison Market) , Trader Joes, coffee shops, shopping, etc! I personally love it!

I'm looking for something similar and Ballard/Fremont were recommended to me. We'll be out there in a few weeks to actually check them out.

I don't think Ballard or Fremont feel particularly urban...they are in town and both really great neighborhoods but if you want an urban feel (and honestly no place in Seattle really feels like NYC that much because NY has an energy all to its own) then I would look at the Cap Hill area particularly Pike Pine that I mentioned above.
