We're moving to University Place in January, and just wondering if there are any Indian Grocery Stores anywhere near UP/ Tacoma/ Seattle?
Where we live now there is a store called Patel Brothers that sells not only fresh ingredients but also frozen and unfrozen prepared meals, anything like that in the area?

They are all over the place, even Bellevue and Sammamish have them. I remember passing one in a shopping center on S Tacoma Way I think, between University Place and Lakewood.

That's good to know, thanks. Do you have any idea what any of them are called?

There's a Mayuri Food & Video in Issaquah (off Exit 17) and another one in Redmond next to the Microsoft Campus. There's also an Apna Bazaar in Crossroads (Bellevue) and one in Sammamish.

Good info, I didn't know Tacoma or Federal Way had Indian food stores. I did know there was one in Lakewood. The only good Indian food store in Seattle is the one located in SHoreline that is run by the Sikh people. Kent also has a real large one, the KK market, but I find the Sikh guy who runs the store is rude and unfriendly, whereas the one in Shoreline the guy is polite and appreciates your business. There is another Sikh run Indian store in Kent, called Punjabi Foods or something where the people seem friendly enough and has a decent selection. The Indian food stores I have been in Bellevue and Redmond also are very good and have decent service.

Portland has the best Indian food store I have ever been in the Northwest and the people are very nice there. It is like an Indian superstore and is larger than most any store I see. They do not sell meat products though. The name of the store is India Direct and it is located in Beaverton.
