Hi all,

I'm currently in Los Angeles and want to relocate to Seattle for jobs, LA sucks. Since most of the positive reports on the job market are on IT (given that it is Seattle), does anyone know how the market is for HR/Organizational Development professionals there?

Our organization had a senior HR position open for 8 or 9 months. We could not find anyone to fill it until just recently. Not sure how to interpret that? We are part of a F250 company.

I would imagine all of the top companies up here... Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks, Costco, etc all need plenty of HR people.

Take a look at Providence at providence.org. They are desperate for HR people right now.

Could be a # of reasons: not enough qualified applicants, requirements too unrealistic, the company wasn't in a hurry to fill the position, etc.

Great, I'll take a look on their websites. Anyone knows whether they have networking events?

Of course it could. But then it wouldnt have been a relative response right? I posted it because it was relevant to your post, and I beleifed helped to show that there are jobs and demand that is unmet. The only reason was an inadequate number of qualified candidates.
