I'm up in Bellingham now, but originally from Minnesota, and my grandmother of Norwegian descent always had lefse rolled up with butter and sugar. We had it at home too, the grocery store Lund's there was always a dependable source.

Once in a while here I asked a Scandinavian person I met if they knew where to get some lefse. More than once I had them tell me "oh, I don't know if I should say" meaning, they didn't want to reveal their source because someone else might buy it all, leaving none for them.

Hope you find some good lefse, probably in Ballard. My cousin lives there and bought me some once, I felt he was a true blue Minnesota cousin for doing that.

Lefse isn't dire. Lutefisk is dire.

Making lefse isn't all that hard, especially if you cheat and use instant mashed potatoes:

Default But lefse straight from us!

My grandparents make all the lefse for specialty bakeries and Scandinavian shops in the PNW. Scandia Lefse is the continuation of the Scandia Bakery and Lefse Factory that was the main Hub for Scandinavians to receive authentic wonderfully made lefse and pastries. We are just beginning to sell lefse directly to customers please email me directly if you would like it shipped fresh straight to your door. You will not be disappointed! This is the same fresh lefse you will find at Larsen's in Ballard, along with Scandinavian Specialties. Also at the Uff Da Shoppe in Stanwood. Email me at shopscandia@gmail.com. We'd love to hear from you!
