Hi, all. My husband and I are transferring to Washington. I will be working from home but will also have an office in verett and he will most likely be working in somewhere that has high tech. We would love to have a place where we can look out our window and not see someone looking back at us from theirs. Greenbelt, water or mountain view would be excellent. I would also love something close to shops and nice restaurants but not get a lot of freeway noise. Am I dreaming or are there neighborhoods like that?

We like Woodinville, but that is probably too far from Everett.

Everett is kindof a reverse commute from Seattle (all traffic going other direction). As long as you're north of downtown Seattle, you should be okay

The newspaper for Everett and the surrounding area is the Everett Herald. Here is the link to their Classifieds, which can give you a quick education in prices, the job market there, and so forth.

Default Neighborhood recommendations

Do you know what price range you want to be in? Some nice areas from Everett that have more land, trees & rivers/lakes are Snohomish, Lake Stevens and surrounding areas. If he's in high tech, he'll most likely be on the Eastside (Redmond, Bellevue areas). So you would not want to have to cross the bridges (i.e. living in Seattle proper). Woodinville & Bothell are other nice areas where some of the homes have some land & privacy too.

I've lived in the Seattle area my whole life, and am real familiar with the different areas. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest! It's beautiful here!

Default Same situation

Hi there! It's funny because we posted at the same time and we're in a similar situation. We have been looking at it seems as though there are some areas like you're looking for, but you just have to pay a premium for them. I don't know where you're moving from, but we've had to increase our price point quite a bit to get the type of house we were looking for in Seattle.
