We live in Kenmore a mile north of 522, and I am looking at a possible job that is more or less on the Seattle Elliot Bay waterfront.

Heard lots of horror stories about the commute. But I've done a few practice runs and generally have been able to get door to door in 35 minutes, leaving Kenmore at various times between 6:30a and 7:30a. (522 to 145th W (10m) 145th to I5 S (10m) I5S to Mercer W (5m) Mercer W to Broad (5m) down to the bay (5m))

Was I just lucky? On average, is it typically longer?

I can do the Seattle to Kenmore route as early as 4pm. Not early enough to miss the rush, I know, but can I get to Kenmore by 4:45? There are at least three routes I can take if one of the roads is botched.

Looking for a reality check.

Wanted to resurrect this post since I'm considering a similar commute (thanks for sharing the test run OP).

Does anyone else do this commute and can confirm, or have suggestions on best times to leave/best routes to take? Either originating from Kenmore, or that general area of Bothell?

If a 35-45 minute commute to Elliott Bay area is do-able, that would be similar to what I'm dealing with now anyway.

Also does anyone know what this commute might be like when leaving around 10am (I know, I know )
