We haven't been over there since we moved back, the last time we were was 2009. Did I hear that all the kids rides are gone ? Is there anything kid friendly to do over that way? We do not want to do the EMP museum as we've done that years ago and we not impressed. Any help would be great!

All the rides and games are gone. The pacific science museum and children's theatre are still there though. And a new skateboard park.

Yes, the Fun forest with all the rides is gone. The Children's Museum is on the bottom floor of the Armory, formerly known as the Center House. What took the place of the Fun Forest is the Chihuly Glass Museum and Garden, not something I'd think of as particularly kid friendly.

There are plans for a new playground at Seattle Center -- but at the rate things are going, my 2-year-old will have graduated from high school by the time they actually build it.

The Science Center has only had a few minor changes in the five years since you've been there. Luckily, not much is happening in the world of science so they don't feel a need to keep on top of any exiciting new research or discoveries. (Sarcasm alert)

The children's museum is still there and, again, hasn't changed much despite being packed to the rafters with kids every weekend.

Your kids (if under 7 or so) will love the Imagine Children's Museum in Everett - much better than the Seattle one, with the best climbing structure in the region on the rooftop.

You should check out the schedule of cultural festivals they have at the Seattle Center

http://seattlecenter.com/festal/

We've enjoyed the Vietnamese, Filipino, and Turkfest among others. It's a really cool way to explore the world with your kids. You can show them the country on the map ahead of time and talk about it. Some festivals are bigger than others.

My first grader LOVES the glass museum. I didn't even think he liked art that much - it really surprised me. Younger kids probably wouldn't do well there though.

We like the science center and going to plays at the seattle children's theater. Sadly, the Seattle Children's museum could do with some renovation.

The Science Center is also getting a little old and tired, but kids still like it. Just not as interesting for parents any more. The zoo is probably a better activity for kids, along with the museum of flight, and the aquarium.

Thanks everyone! I did find out that there is a fest there called Whirligig when we are taking our family to the space needle. Or we might do the duck ride as well! Thanks again!
