Honestly, it's about time. When I moved here I was shocked that a woman her age would be the anchor. I'm trying to phrase this as nice as Ican, but she was too old and too wrinkled to be a prime time anchor. She was also way too thin. Between the hanging skin wrinkles and the protruding bones, i honestly would get so distracted that I'd occasionally miss the story. I'm hoping they get some nice eye candy to replace her, something in a 30 something brunette would be great!

OMG! I hope this sexist rant was tongue-in-cheek and not meant seriously! (this IS 2014, right, not 1954?)

It was my honest opinion. And anyone who is honest with themselves will agree. And its not a male thing, my wife and sister both agree. the truth isn't always pretty, especially in this case. This doesn't take away from her professional achievements, but she just didn't fit the stereotype of an American metro news anchor. if that's sexist to you, blame society for cultivating that image. I'd much rather watch an attractive person on tv, male or female.

Check her out in this newscast from 1979

KING5-TV 5pm Newscast (1/2) - Sept 4th, 1979 - YouTube

***, Enersen was on air talent for 46 years because she was one of the best in the biz. Not many reporters can come close to her warmth and class and authority. The reason she stayed so long is that she is one of the most trusted figures in the region, and has done a lot of great things for the community.

Who ever did the hiring for KING in the 1970s and early 80s did one hell of a job, not just with Enersen but across the board. In part 2 you'll see Jeff Renner, who is still with KING, and Aaron Brown who was later a national anchor for CNN and one of the major networks. Just an amazing news team.

I hate it that reporters are always so "pretty", god forbid you have somebody that's a little overweight or susan boyle.

Hopefully they will promote Lori Matsukawa to primetime anchor. She's also one of the best and has been with the station a long time.

Don't forget Cody Something, too, a sports guy. We were so impressed by the anchors here after moving to Seattle from Southern California.
