This forum is certainly testimony to that. Practically every day someone new pops up saying, "I'm moving to Seattle!," from California, New York, Texas, North Carolina, and wherenot.

Not a place you want to land at without a job already secured.

A BA is sufficient to get a clerical job. Plus, you have experience in your specialized field. If you apply for jobs in something related to that, your experience will serve you well.

I have BA of business from abroad , If the competition to get simple clerical and administrative jobs will be fierce and need a postgraduate degree , then why Seattle is always ranked as one of America's best Job markets .. Just wondering
We have an incredible job market for some things. If you're a programmer - there aren't a lot of places with more opportunities and better pay than Seattle.

For clerical and administrative jobs? We have one of the most educated populations in the US. There is no shortage of applicants for those positions. And yes - competition is fierce. People come here because they hear there are a lot of jobs, but unless you have a very in-demand skillset, it's tough. Nor will the pay go as far as it does in other parts of the country.

By all means, you may be just as competitive as the locals, but do be aware that our booming economy isn't booming for everyone. It's only great in certain sectors.

As previously stated, if Boeing is expanding, there will be aviation jobs (and not just at Boeing). If contracting, you'll be fighting for jobs with workers with Boeing, and not just aviation, experience.

It used to be that if Boeing caught a cold, Seattle caught the flu. Boeing doesn't dominate the local job market like it used to. The local job market could be hot, when Boeing's isn't, and vice versa.

Even "simple clerical/administrative jobs" at Boeing pay above market wages and thus are much sought after. It could be a mistake to assume you can just waltz into one of those jobs.

One way to get into Boeing is as a contractor - if a good worker and you can acculturate to "the Boeing way," after a year or so, you might be asked to go permanent. Best to have a back-up plan; even better, a job offer.

By the way, OP, clerical/admin jobs in the Seattle area don't usually pay enough to cover the high rents + living expenses. I don't know about your aviation-related field, though.
