Looking for some input on Gregory Heights Elementary school in Burien.
We're looking to move to the Burien/Normandy Park area - I've heard lots of great things about Marvista in Normandy Park, but we're trying to decide if the houses feeding into Gregory Heights should be added or removed from our radar (or to look into private). I haven't found much by way of input - but have heard there are mixed feelings about the school.
So I thought I'd turn to this forum to see if anyone out there has kids at Gregory Heights, and what their opinion is.
We've got a child entering Kindergarten in the Fall, and are new to the whole concept in general.
Also, we'll be relocating from the Bay Area and trying to gain some perspective on how the schools here compare to the schools in our current home town (Alameda). So if anyone has relocated from the Bay Area, and has some extra perspective there - would love to here it!

There hasn't been a positive review on Great Schools in six or seven years: Gregory Heights Elementary School - Burien, Washington - WA - School overview

Test scores are also below state averages. Still, I've found it helpful to actually go into schools and take a tour, talk to the principal, etc. Marvista, at least on paper, looks to be your best bet in that area.

we live in Normandy Park,WA and our Son went to Gregory Heights elem. and we pulled him out in the 3rd grade because his nose was broken from being pushed down the stairs at Gregory Heights and the principal did nothing about it.

We are 2 houses from being able to put our Son into Marvista and we've had to put him in private school so he doesn't continued to be bullied by these kids that live close to us.

Marvista is the highest rated elementary school in the highline district..Please run away from Gregory Heights.
