I know this is an older thread, but I adopted a kitten 3 weeks ago from the Humane Society, and today I come home to a 72 hour notice from animal control saying they "saw" my cat from a window and told me to license it.

This has gone too far. I live on a dead end street with 5 homes, and I know my kitten never sits in the front window to be seen. Debate aside about licensing (mine is barely old enough to qualify), the idea of the government driving around looking for something to cite you with in your private home is obnoxious. Most likely they got tipped off by SHS but it's still obnoxious. Responding to a dog barking is one thing...peering in windows for pets is downright creepy. Where is the ACLU when you need them?

I am considering a job offer in Auburn. I have two 40lb house dogs.

I would comply with getting them registered, but is Auburn a place where we could could get to a place to daily walk off lead?
