Our family is currently living in Austin, TX and will be moving back to Seattle (specifically Greenlake/Wallingford/Fremont) summer 2009 -- we lived in Greenlake when our daughter was just a little baby and hadn't checked out what sort of schools were around at the time since she was so young.

By the time we move back she'll be 8 and our son will be 4. Will they have to go private or are there some good public schools around?

Thanks!

We live in the Greenlake Area - my kids are 6 and a baby, and you probably know that the Seattle School district is no where near as good as anything on the East Side.

The two best schools in our area (you will be placed in a school in your "cluster") are in Ballard, and in Wedgwood. The elementary school in Bryant is well sought after, and difficult to get in.

Most parents I know put their kids in private school. Seattle School District have WAY too many problems.

Thanks Citygirl --

I'll do a google search for Greenlake area schools. I wish the public schools were better but that's a whole different thread!
