Any other fans of Mike Siegel out there? I think I listened to his show in the first week that I moved to Seattle back in 1992. IIRC he was on KIRO AM 710, before KIRO flipped their political talk to FM and sports to AM. Then he moved to KVI, at the time the conservative talk juggernaut. Mike Siegel was the best in terms of covering Olympia. IIRC he used to do his show from Olympia when the legislature was in session. Love him or hate him, he really filled a void in talking about the Olympia scene. He was fired in 1996 due to a controversy,

IIRC a caller intimated that then-Mayor Norm Rice was gay, and Mike egged the caller on, so he was fired. Then he bounced around, going back to KIRO for a while (the late Mike Webb was not happy with that) and to KTTH. He took over for Art Bell for a while covering the paranormal. I think that was probably the low point of his radio career.

He's still on the air at a small station, KLFE 1590. I think he's just doing it because he loves it. From what I've heard he made a small fortune in real estate and his show now is just a labor of love. He is still doing great talk radio.

Other early KVI talk hosts: Wayne Cody, John Dayle, and Bob Hardwick. One blurb from the time described Dayle as "a bombastic, belligerent and arbitrary talk-show moderator."
